Strap in boys and girls. Last week’s market losses look to be spilling over into this week. Investors appear to be increasing their discount rates in an attempt to front-run any potential rate increase from the Federal Reserve and J-Pow himself. The S&P 500 is now down 7% for the month of January and it appears as if we are only just now getting started.

I’m confused on DIIBF, did I need to hold through today to receive the dividend? I assumed selling after the ex dividend date on Jan18 would entitle me to the dividend but now I’m not sure since I haven’t received it.
Added comment. Thank you so much for the info on Dorel. While my dividend is a minuscule portion of yours (congrats on that) it is a nice junk of change. And really important is that it further lengthens my “lead” on my brother. When we split my dads IRA we agreed to have a monthly and YTD contest to see who could do better with the money our dad did not realize he had. I crushed him in January. And February off to a rocking start.
Happy dividend day! I received mine in the wee hours of the morning. Not there at midnight. But there at 0500. No tax withheld although it is an inherited IRA account so different rules. What is strange is that while the total is reflected the amount is not calculated in the overall portfolio return. Not that I care and maybe it will re-rate.

Omicron is bring covid closer to "endemic" status and people are aching to travel and enjoy life. One of my biggest positions is EPR Properties, but am always looking for more opportunities.

Got my Dorel dividend payment tonight, thanks again!
I got hit with a 15% foreign withholding tax, but still great money.
If for some reason, the stock doesn’t drop by $12 tomorrow, I will sell my position.
